You have money in the bank. The real question is how much of it is yours to spend, once you count the bills that have not hit yet.
Most people answer that by opening the banking app and reading the balance. The balance does not know the rent is due Friday, or that the car insurance leaves on the twenty-fifth, or that you are putting a hundred a month aside for tires. It shows a number that feels like yours and mostly is not.
Money Map is a Google Sheet with the whole thing already built.
The dashboard leads with safe to spend, and the cards under it show where that number came from. A line under it changes with your numbers rather than sitting there as decoration.
You start on the Set up tab, and it is the only typing you do twice. Your categories, your bills, your payment methods and where your money comes from go in once, and from then on every other tab offers them as a list to pick from. Nothing is spelled two ways, because nothing is spelled twice.
Bills holds every fixed obligation with its due date and counts the days. Pick the bill and it brings its own category with it. Gold is coming up. Red is late, and it says late next to the colour.
Spending Log is four columns and takes about six seconds a purchase. If you would rather not log at all, there is a box on the dashboard where you type one figure for the month and the file uses that instead.
Budget shows each of your categories against what you planned, what you have spent and what is left, with a bar and a word for how it is going.
Savings Goals holds what you are saving toward, with a bar that fills as you get there. What you contribute each month comes off safe to spend, so the number you see is already after saving.
Income takes any pay schedule. Weekly, every two weeks, twice a month, yearly, or nothing regular at all. It converts them to a monthly figure for you.
One cell on the dashboard says which month you are looking at. Change it and the whole file moves with it, so last month is still there to look at and next month is ready before it arrives. Nothing rolls over, nothing is archived, and nothing you typed goes anywhere.

Do I need to connect my bank?
No. Nothing connects to anything. You type what you want in it, and it stays in your copy.

What if I do not want to log every purchase?
Type one figure on the dashboard for what you have spent this month. The file uses that and ignores the log.
Can I change the categories?
Yes. The Set up tab holds your categories, your bills, your payment methods and your income sources. Type over what came with it or add your own on the first empty row, and every dropdown in the file offers it straight away.
Can I look at a different month?
Yes. One cell on the dashboard picks the month, and everything on the page moves with it. Nothing you have typed is cleared or archived when a month ends, so last month is still there whenever you want to look.
What happens if I break a formula?
Open the link from your receipt and make a fresh copy, then type your numbers back in. Your old copy stays where it is.
Is my information private?
Your copy lives in your own Google account. Nobody else can open it, and neither can we.
