The problem

The sticker on the windshield is the only reminder most cars get.

Registration comes due for one car in February and the other in September. The inspection on the second car ran out two weeks ago, and nobody noticed. The receipt for the brakes is in a glove box, and the mileage from the last oil change is on a sticker that has faded.

None of it is hard to keep track of. It just lives in too many places to see at once.

What's inside

Every vehicle, every visit, one place.

Add each vehicle once with its registration and inspection dates. Log every visit as it happens: the date, the mileage, what was done and what it cost. The Dashboard shows the next date due, anything already past, and what the household has spent this year.

You change the dates yourself when a registration or inspection is renewed. The file counts down to whatever you last typed.

  • Vehicles. One row for each vehicle: plate, registration due and inspection due, with what is up next and how many days away it is.
  • Service. A log of every visit: date, vehicle, mileage, the work done and the cost.
  • The Dashboard. The next thing due and how soon, how many vehicles, what has been spent this year and what is overdue, with a chart of service cost by vehicle.
  • Red and gold. A date already past turns red. A date inside the next 30 days turns gold.
  • Set up. Your own list of service types, behind the dropdown on Service.
  • Sample vehicles. Three made-up vehicles and fourteen visits already in place, so it makes sense before you type your own.

Questions

Before you buy.

Does it hold my VIN or policy numbers?

No, and it should not. A name you will recognise and the plate are enough to tell the vehicles apart.

Does it send reminders?

No. It shows what is due whenever you open it, with the soonest date at the top of the Dashboard.

Does it count down miles to the next oil change?

No. It logs the mileage on every visit, so the last one is always there to check, but the countdowns are dates.

How many vehicles can it hold?

Ten.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Logging a visit from the shop counter works fine on a phone.

Is there anything to renew?

No. You buy it once and the copy is yours to keep.

S

See the next date before it turns into a late fee.

No app. No account. No monthly anything.
